Activities Since June
2007 meeting.
Transportation
DelDOT provided a Project Status Report to HVDRAC at
their July meeting that was covered and reported by the Hockessin Community
News. Subsequently, the consultants and community members met with certain
property owners to consider detail design options impacting their property.
The resulting Detail Design will be presented to the general public at a
DelDOT workshop scheduled for October 16, 2007. Look for advertisements to
be included in our newspapers.
Design
Welcome to Hockessin Village signs were installed (4 each).
HPP received a Grant from Councilman Tansey for the installation of
landscaping at the base of the Welcome to Hockessin Village Signs.
A bronze plaque recognizing the contribution of the Hockessin/Greenville
Rotary was installed at the base of the Flag Pole at the intersection of
Lancaster Pike and Yorklyn Road. GHADA paid for the plaque and HPP installed
the monument.
The Design Committee Chairperson identified near term Goals & presented them
to HVDRAC (Refer to attachment)
Landscape
maintenance group met with DelDOT representatives to improve the condition
of the beds installed along Lancaster Pike and finalize the maintenance
agreements.
Business
An
organizing committee and HPP met to discuss near term goals and the
re-energizing of the Business Organization. Business questioners and Welcome
to Hockessin window signs were distributed to merchants. A curbside business
directory was created and will be updated as the business owners provide
information. The organizing group will meet again in September and then host
a general meeting of all business owners.
Historic
HPP met with the President of
HHS to discuss the activation of a HPP Historic Committee. Committee
meetings are expected to occur this fall.
HPP Administrative
HPP, Inc. was incorporated and
received State certification on 6-25-07.
IRS filings for EIN filed and
received and a not for profit filing is in progress.
HPP received a grant from
Economic Development office to assist in the payment of administrative
expenses and HPP received a contribution of $100.
The Partnership has opened a
banking account and established a set of accounting records (Quicken Books).
Water Management & Environmental
Representative. Manolakos has listed the Hockessin
Village drainage project as a 21st Century fund legislative project for
$100,000. He has also committed to transfer $17,000 to this project in FY
08.
