WHAT IS THE HPP?
The Hockessin Village Partnership is a private/public
partnership dedicated to the economic enhancement of Hockessin Village and
surrounding areas. The Partnership has created a unique environment to
foster Hockessin's Social Capital. Through the development of "Bridges"
between organizations, the local businesses, merchants, property owners,
service and civic organizations, New Castle County, and State
representatives may work together toward a common goal: The ongoing
enhancement of the Hockessin Village and surrounding area with mutual
benefits.
A sixteen-member policy board governs the
Partnership. The Board provides direction to each of the Partnership's
working committees and charts the course for Hockessin's Village and
surrounding area’s enhancement. The Committees bring together leaders from
a broad range of industries to ensure that Hockessin Village and Area remains
an active spirited place to live and do business. The Corporation shall be
operated exclusively for charitable purposes and shall work to develop and
implement strategies that will increase the economic vitality of the
Hockessin community, enhance Hockessin’s reputation as an attractive and
desirable place to live, and build on Hockessin’s unique history and
character to strengthen its role as an area of cultural and social activity.
The Board meets the second Monday of the month at
5:30 p.m. in the Lamborn Library. All HPP meetings are open to the
public.
